First produced to the public in 1938, the Volkswagen “bug” became the longest running and most produced automobile of a single design. The Beetle Convertible comes standard with 16 inch alloy wheels with the ability to add factory 17 inch wheels from the dealer. Also to name a few items included with the Beetle Convertible is a remote keyless entry, heated front seats and a premium audio system with a CD and MP3 player. You are also able to add a rear spoiler and a 6 CD changer.
Powertrains and Performance
The Beetle Convertible is powered by a 2.5 liter 5 cylinder engine that produces 150 horsepower and 170 pound feet of torque. Coupes with the automatic transmission get 1 mpg better on the freeway. All Beetle models get an estimated 23 mpg.
Safety
The Beetle Convertible comes standard with ABS, stability control, front-seat side-impact airbags and active front head restraints.
In crash test ratings the Beetle Convertible earned 4 out of 5 stars for front occupants in front crashes and 5 stars for side crashes. The IIHS gave the Beetle Convertible a top score for front crash protection.
