The performance and handling of the new Passat is unmatched. The 4 cylinder turbocharged engine takes out most of the V6 vehicles on the road today. The Passat now has a new body style for the new year which is called the Passat Wagon. Instead of opting out for a bigger size engine, most people are continuing to let the all new Passat handle it with its incredible performance of its 4 cylinder.
The Passat is available in its ever so famous sedan trim or its new Wagon trim. Both trim levels feature the same standard accessories as well as performance. Some of the standard features include a sunroof, power heated front seats and an eight speaker sound system with a 6 CD changer. The wagon features all of the sedan’s standard equipment and adds chrome roof rails.
The Passat is of course standard with the 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine. In this new year there is no manual, 6 speed automatic with tiptronics is the only option available. In 0 to 60 ratings, the Passat reached 60 mph in 7.7 seconds – not bad for a 2.0 four cylinder.
For safety the Passat will not be rivaled. It comes standard with many safety options that many other vehicles do not even offer. To name a few, the Passat comes with anti whiplash front head rests, front side air bags as well as full curtain airbags.
In safety testing, the Passat earned four out of five stars for government crash test ratings and the highest possible rating from overall.
The Passat is very roomy and has the luxurious feel to it and the displays and controls are easy and elegant to use. One main thing about the Passat is its classy interior. Instead of being a family sedan; which it really is; it feels more like a luxury sedan when you step inside.
