The Tiguan is an interesting name that was choosen by Volkswagen as a mix between tiger and iguana, hence the name Tig-uan. This is Volkswagen’s first shot at a compact SUV and the quickest compact SUV on the market. The Tiguan features the turbocharged 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine that is used in most of Volkswagen’s vehicles.
The Tiguan is featured with three trim levels, with all the same engine. The standard features are basically the same thoughout each trim level. Some of the standard options include, an 8 speaker audio system with CD, 8 way manual adjustable front seats, and cruise control.
Some of the SE trim features are, foglights, a roof rack, tinted glass, heated front seats, a power driver seat, and a leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls..
The most luxoruis trim model of the SEL comes with, bi xenon headlights, leather seats, a 12 way power driver seat with memory settings, a premium audio system, dual zone climate control, rain sensing wipers and an auto dimming rearview mirror.
All Tiguans are powered by the 2.0 turbocharged engine that makes 200 horsepower and 206 lb ft. of torque. The only other option that is featured is Volkswagen’s all wheel drive.
Volkswagen states that the vehicle that is half tiger, half iguana can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 8 seconds.
Safety is just standard on this Volkswagen Tiguan. Of course, standard is all you really need with its ABS, stability and traction control, and front and full curtain airbags.
Tiguan like all of the other Volkswagen vehicles the Tiguan’s interior is unmatched for its class. Everything is well placed and easy to use. The seating arrangements are also very roomy with comfortable seats. Another cool feature of the Tiguan is that the rear seat slides forward and backward to improve leg room or cargo space.
